Wear.Style Bangalore Fashion Week: Day 1

A splash of colour, a dash of elegance and a whole lot of glamour, was the underlying aesthetic at the 17th edition of Wear.Style Bengaluru Fashion Week that kickstarted today at Clark’s Exotica. The four-day fashion week showcased breath-taking runaway shows revealing the well-kept secrets of 6 talented fashion designers in the country.

Students from Dream Zone opened the day with a collection showcasing both rustic and bohemian designs, peppered with ruffles.

Acclaimed actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag walked the ramp for designer Abhishek Dutta promoting their upcoming film Babumoshai.

Mrs. India Universe 2016, Lakshmi Sheshadri used the fashion platform to spread awareness on her initiative ‘The Joy Box’ – the first of its kind clothing collection terminal which will be set up at strategic locations such as apartment complexes, schools and companies around the city, where people can discard their used stuff at their convenience. The ramp at the Bangalore Fashion Week witnessed her walking down the ramp with the models wearing the Joy Box t-shirts. Along with the Karnataka commissioner for children’s health and the C.E.O of the Klay school (Priya Krishnan), the key for the first Joy Box was formally presented to the first NGO – Anantha Shishu Sevashrama.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi Sheshadri said, “The Joy Box is a pet project of mine to bring about a greater sense of community involvement with the citizens of Bangalore. I am really glad I could use the platform of Bangalore Fashion Week to get the message out.”

Feroz Khan, Event Director- Dream Merchants, said “Bangalore Fashion Week aims to provide a platform to all budding and leading fashion designers of the country to showcase their stylish collection where buyers and media get to see their creations. We are proud to introduce names that not only define the future of fashion but bring in the rich fashion heritage the country has to offer.”

This season the event aims to set the stage of the future of fashion through their festive winter collection.
