TicWatch GTX Review: This Smartwatch is just the surprise package 2020 ordered

The all new TicWatch GTX in action

Priced at ₹5999, it is the most affordable, premium Smartwatch in the market

The Smartwatch market has over the years seen some great contenders throw their hats to attract the bees. From the premium Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 to the Apple Watch 6 & SE and more recently the Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve, there’s one for everyone. While Google’s Wear OS has been a dud, many of them moved away and brought in their own versions of the operating system to run on these watches.

However, over the years, Chinese company Mobvoi, known for its affordable smartwatches and earphones like the very impressive TicWatch E and the AirPods Pro-like TicPods ANC launched the all new TicWatch GTX. Everything in the company’s catalogue is very economical, but nothing beats the price of the brand new TicWatch GTX.

The all new TicWatch GTX ditches the Google Wear OS and goes independent with its own custom OS that doesn’t deprive the user of any features.

LASTS LONG! REALLY LONG!

One of the faces on the TicWatch GTX

Where many WearOS smartwatches have struggled with battery life, Mobvoi promises the operating system has been optimized to offer up to 10 days of juice. Of course, that’s only on power-saving mode. On its default mode you’ll likely go about seven to eight days before having to plug it into the mains for a top-up. Still, that’s far better than most WearOS watches

BRINGING SEXY BACK

The smartwatch features a 1.28-inch TFT touch display having a resolution of 240×240 pixels. The watch is quite sleek and looks premium by the external design. The watch body is metal, and sports some real nice curves around the round dial which itself is quite slick. The watch by all means is a looker! One may not even realise that you are wearing a smartwatch. The finish looks good and the overall build of the TicWatch GTX is something that Mobvoi has done a very good job with which makes it attractive to wear for your wrists.

Moving on, it boasts an RLC8762C chipset with 168KB Memory and 16 GB internal memory. Which would smoothy run any of the required apps that you need on your smartwatch. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, there would be no connectivity issues whatsoever.

PACKS A PUNCH WITH NO FRILLS WHATSOEVER

The watch faces are plenty and paired with the right watch face, the GTX has no issues whatsoever in being perfect for a business meeting or a party in the evening. The watch comes with 14 different sport modes to track fitness and also has a 24 hour heartbeat monitor to ensure you are doing fine.

Like any other smartwatch, the GTX works perfectly fine in displaying notifications from the phone seamlessly. WhatsApp to Instagram, it ensures you are not missing out on important updates through the day. You can also control your music and ping your phone if you can’t find it.

NOT WITHOUT SOME MISSES

While there is no disputing that the TicWatch GTX is the best available SmartWatch for this price point, I was a tad little disappointed with some of the basic fonts that appear on the device when you have notifications. Sometimes it is difficult to read through it and I hope this is addressed in its next OTA.

DEAL OR NO DEAL?

Absolutely DEAL!! If you are looking for a solid looking, a watch that does the job, the TicWatch GTX by Mobvoi is a must must buy! After all for ₹5999, itna paisa main bahot kuch milega!!!
