This time the Seagram’s 100 Pipers #PlayForACause initiative to provide sustainable drinking water to villagers in Rajasthan will be supported by the iconic British brand The Dire Straits Experience.
With worldwide record album sales of over 100 million, three Britt awards and a team of world class musicians, Dire Straits became the veteran rock & rollers in the ’80s. This is for the first time that they will be performing live in India.
The event which is scheduled for 17th & 19th March in Gurgaon and Bengaluru respectively, will feature original Dire Straits band mates Chris White (sax, flute, percussion, vocals) and Chris Whitten (drums) supported in the lead by Terence Reis (lead vocals and guitar), with whom they will revive the Dire Straits experience in an unforgettable manner.
Speaking about performing in India for the first time, Chris White, Band member of The Dire Straits Experience says, “India has always been on our list and we are very excited to play in India. Our 2 city tour in India, In Gurgaon and Bangalore, is to support the 100 Pipers “Play for a cause” initiative to provide water to villages in Rajasthan. The power of Music is incredible and it brings together people across nations and cultures. We are happy to become a part of this great event which is bringing music and artists together to make a difference to society.”
So if you are wondering how this #PlayForACause initiative will help the people of Rajasthan, here it is: the concert will support the initiative to provide sustainable drinking water solutions to villagers in Rajasthan. Advit Foundation, an NGO working towards Environmental Resource Conservation and Livelihood Enhancement, will be executing this water project post the event.
So, I am attending this concert and doing my bit to improve the lives of my fellow countrymen. I suggest you to not miss out on this opportunity. Besides, it’s not every day that you get the chance to see The Dire Straits Experience performing live.
