BREAKING: Varun Dhawan & Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No.1 to release on Amazon Prime?

David Dhawan’s remake of his hit 90’s blockbuster Coolie No.1 was among the most anticipated films of the year. Starring his son Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, the movie was all set to release on 1st May 2020. However, like other big-budget films, this was also pushed to the cans due to Covid-19.

Recently, it was rumored that Ekta Kapoor had bought theatrical rights to the film for approx 50 crores. It has now come to light that the production is headed for a direct-to-digital release on Amazon Prime Video.

An Official announcement shall follow soon, but you heard this news here first! The news comes as a big blow to theatres and multiplexes as it is the 3rd “Biggie” after #LaxmmiBomb and #Bhuj to go the OTT way.

Only two days back, the team on director David Dhawan’s birthday had released a BTS shot from a song sequence where Sara aces the Maharashtrian look as she sports a purple legging and pink, printed kurti. Her nose ring, circular bindi, yellow bangles and earrings will certainly remind you of traditional Marathi women, their culture and style.
